HOLY WEEK IN SORSOGON

This year's Holy Week is earlier than the way it should to be because it falls in the month of March, rather than the month of April. Holy week here in Sorsogon is the same as it was before...what i mean is the celebration or how the people celebrate it. For the Catholics, of course the usuall traditions like; it will start on the Ash wednesday untill the traditional Domingo de Ramos (palm sunday), the processions, the Good Friday's "Siete Palabras", the Pabasa, the Senakulo, the Penetencia, The Crusifixion, the "Tanggal", and the "Saklot" or "Salubong" on early morning of Easter Sunday.

To some other Christians also (who has other belief than the Catholics) they too have their own way of Celebrating the Holy week. They go also to their respective Churches or Congregation on Good Friday to attend Church Service on which the Pastor or the Minister, explained or exfound what the Word of God (the Bible) says about the suffering and the death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of calvary to redeemed mankind from sin.

It is a rainy Holy week we have here in Sorsogon City, specially during Good Friday...it almost rain through out the day...but when evening comes, it stop. Anyway, whatever belief we have..may we have that attitude to respect one's "paniniwala"..what is important is we reflect in our lives the true meaning of the Holy week, and that is the Love of God to us that he gave His only Son (Jesus) that whosoever beleives in him will not perished but will have an everlasting life (John 3:16).......tell then my Friends and remember...that God is good....all the time.
